|
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death in Canadian women and men. In general, the onset of CVD is approximately 10 years later in women than in men; women present with a wider range of symptoms; and women are less likely to seek medical care and are less likely than men to be investigated and treated for CVD with specific medications, angioplasty or coronary artery bypass graft.
